Kick off the new decade by traveling for your annual CME/CPD! The Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC) will be hosting its 2020 SRPC Rural and Remote Medical Course on April 23-25, in Ottawa, ON. This national conference is featuring “Rural Advocacy – how to save the world in your spare time” as it’s theme for 2020. The event brings together healthcare providers and their families along with exhibitors from across the country for medical education, hands on skills enhancement workshops and courses, case discussions, and fun activities, including the annual hockey game! For more details about this event, visit the SRPC’s web site.
If you want to attend CME that is closer to home (and in the heart of BC wine country!), save the date for the 2020 BC Rural Health Conference being held May 29-31, in Penticton, BC. This event will bring together healthcare providers and their families from across the province for shared learning, hands-on skills enhancement, and networking. Learn more about the event on the RCCbc web site or join the conference email list to be one of the first to receive the event registration package.
CONFERENCE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
BC rural physicians

UBC medical learners and trainees with a rural interest
This year, the Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) is offering funding for medical undergraduates and second year residents (R2s) to attend either the SRPC 2020 Rural and Remote Medical Course OR the 2020 BC Rural Health Conference. Only select R2s will be eligible for this funding – residents who are interested in rural practice, but 1) are not engaged in an Enhanced Rural stream and 2) do not have a return of service agreement with an RSA community are invited to apply for this funding.
