BC Emergency Medicine Network update – Nov 2019

The BC EM Network is continuing to grow and connect BC emergency practitioners with each other. Collectively, we sharing knowledge and supporting one another with information to improve patient care. The Network has 424 BC-relevant clinical resources (clinical summaries, procedural videos, patient information sheets, and more). All resources are publicly available and authored or sourced by BC practitioners like you.

The Network is made up of your peers – physicians from across BC, working in tertiary, large community, rural, and remote emergency departments. Currently, members include generalists in small communities and full-time emergency physicians; any physician who is responsible emergency patient care in BC.

The Network currently has over 870 members who are actively engaged and supporting one another in their communities. We have also seen a 124% increase in website users compared to the same period last year.

Coming in 2020, the BCEMN will be airing the “End of Shift” podcast, hosted by Dr. Eric Angus and Dr. Joe Haegert. The hosts will explore clinical and wellness topics related to BC emergency care and interview BC practitioners. Also, keep an eye out for new blog posts or submit one yourself on any topic related to EM care. You’ll be able to find all this in The Lounge section on the Network website – launching soon!
