There’s been a lot of discussion around CODI (Clinical Outreach and Diagnostic Interventions), a new iOS app that securely connects intensivists to rural physicians via video chat in real time. The app allows rural physicians in acute and critical care situations to reach out for support directly using their smartphone – there is no waiting time before you’re connected with an intensivist. In addition to having a support provider who can see what you’re seeing, CODI also provides you with a transcription (available in minutes) that can be inserted into your patient’s chart after the consult is completed.
To learn more about CODI, watch the latest video above, or visit the web site for more information or to download the app.
CODI is supported in part by the Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues (JSC), Rural Education Action Plan (REAP), Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc) as well as UBC Division of Continuing Professional Develop (CPD), UBC Department of Family Practice, and UBC Department of Emergency Medicine.
