UBC DFP Enhanced Skills Program accepting applications into November


 
The Enhanced Skills Program (ESP) at UBC’s Department of Family Practice (DFP) is accepting applications for practicing family physicians to received focused training to meet the medical needs of BC communities. These positions are third year residencies (R3) and are remunerated accordingly.

Streams currently offered through the program include (but are not limited to):

  • Family Practice Anesthesia
  • CCFP Emergency Medicine
  • Clinician Scholar Program
  • Health Care of the Elderly
  • Sport and Exercise Medicine
  • Addiction Medicine
  • Advanced Obstetrics
  • Geriatrics
  • Global Health
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Hospital Medicine
  • Indigenous Health
  • Obstetrics
  • Oncology
  • Palliative Medicine
  • Women’s Health

Training may be organized from two to twelve months. Preference is given to physicians in practice in BC or graduating from a UBC residency program; however, all applications will be reviewed. Instruction is interdisciplinary and focused on the specific needs of the candidate.

The application deadline for the Enhanced Skills Program is November 15, 2018 EXCEPT for the Clinician Scholar Program which has a deadline of November 30, 2018. The deadline for the Year of Added Competency in Palliative Medicine has passed; however, positions for short-term palliative care training are still available.
