Bring end-of-life palliative care CPD to your community

Submitted by the BC College of Family Physicians

The BC College of Family Physicians is interested in offering the Learning Essentials Approach to Palliative Care (LEAP) course in your community. LEAP provides the essential skills and competencies of the palliative care approach. It is evidence-based, peer reviewed and evaluated and updated regularly.

LEAP is ideal for any healthcare professional (e.g. family physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, etc.) working in the community whose primary focus of work is not palliative care but who provide care for patients with life-threatening and/or life-limiting illnesses.

We offer two courses:

  • CORE, a two-day course that promotes teamwork and collaboration among different healthcare professionals who work in a variety of settings and organizations
  • MINI, a one-day course intended for established teams looking to enhance teamwork and increase collaboration amongst providers in different agencies.

Both courses encompass an interprofessional approach, face-to-face learning with group discussion and case studies. To learn more about the details of each course offering, download the course descriptions now.
