Online registration for both the Rural Locum Forum and the BC Rural Health Conference will be available until May 3, 2018. After this date, participants wishing to attend the conference must register for these rural CME/CPD events on site at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre (101 Gordon Street) in Nanaimo, starting on Friday, May 11.
Rural and regional BC healthcare providers are invited to network with their colleagues from across British Columbia at these two great CME/CPD events.
The Rural Locum Forum takes place Friday, May 11, starting at 9:00 am. This fantastic event brings together residents, new to rural practice locum physicians, and rural communities for a half day of exploration and networking!
- explore rural locuming in BC
- learn about available locum supports
- network with BC rural locums
- showcase your rural community
This event is co-presented by the Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc) and the Rural and Remote Division of Family Practice.
Following the Rural Locum Forum, RCCbc will host its BC Rural Health Conference starting Friday, May 11 at 3:00 pm and running until Sunday, May 13, 12:00 noon. Attendees will be taught rurally-relevant content through small group learning, session presentations, plenaries, and hands-on workshops. There will also be several open meetings taking place at the conference that will cover such topics as balancing practice and parenting, rural locuming, treatment and resources for chronic pain, and crowdsourcing content for emergency medicine point-of-care emergency clinical summaries – all are welcome to join these meetings and contribute ideas and perspectives.
The theme of the 2018 BC Rural Health Conference is provider wellness – in keeping with this theme, complimentary massages, meditation and yoga sessions, and family-friendly walk/run gatherings will be offered to conference delegates during the weekend.
Complimentary childcare is available for BC Rural Health Conference attendees – register your child(ren) by May 3 to guarantee a spot in the daycare. After May 3, spaces in the daycare will be subject to availability for on site registrants.
See you in Nanaimo!
