UBC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is inviting individuals affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine (FOM) to submit nominations for two awards:
- Innovation in CPD/CME – recognizes outstanding innovation and/or creativity of original work in the area of CPD/CME program development and research
- Distinguished Service to CPD/CME – recognizes substantial long term contributions, distinguished commitments or outstanding service to UBC FoM sponsored CPD/CME activities.
UBC CPD is also inviting UBC FOM medical residents conducting original research in the field of Medical Education during their residency to apply for an Educational Research Grant.
CPD/CME Awards details
Individuals, groups, organizations, or a specific CPD/CME program may be nominated for the Innovation in CPD/CME Award.
Only individuals will be considered for the Distinguished Service to CPD/CME Award.
Eligible nominees must be members of the UBC Faculty of Medicine, which includes academic faculty, clinical faculty, and/or full-time or part-time staff.
Each winner of these two awards will receive a $1,000 honorarium and be publicly recognized at the Annual UBC Faculty of Medicine Awards Reception.

Educational Research Grants for Residents
There are two research grants available to UBC Faculty of Medicine residents – one grant will be given to a family medicine resident while the other grant will be awarded to a specialty medicine resident.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a UBC Faculty of Medicine residency program and have an identified research supervisor. Submissions are limited to one per candidate per year and the grant can only be given to an individual once.
Each grantee will receive a $500 to support educational research projects. If the successful application involves joint authorship, the grant will be awarded to the research project as a whole.
