Physicians: save $50 off BC Rural Health Conference registration until April 6

Rural physicians thinking of attending the BC Rural Health Conference in Nanaimo on May 11-13 will save $50 off the full fee if they register by Friday, April 6!

Other health professionals will also find the BC Rural Health Conference informative and useful in their day-to-day work as interprofessional team care is addressed in many of the educational and workshop sessions. Topics discussed focus on clinical office practice as well as emergent care in rural and regional settings.  Come and meet colleagues from across British Columbia and learn interactively during this CME/CPD event.

The theme for this year is “Provider Wellness,” and in keeping with this theme, we are offering complimentary massages, a yoga/stretch session, and a breath-based meditation break. Participants wanting to learn how to integrate evidence-based mindfulness techniques in their medical practice (for patients, colleagues, or self) are invited to check out the BCALM for Provider Wellness being offered on Friday, May 11 ahead of the start of the conference. This course is accredited for 6.0 Mainpro+ credits.

This year, HOUSE-OB – an accredited ultrasound-based obstetrics course – is on offer Thursday, May 10, ahead of the BC Rural Health Conference. Designed for primary care physicians and midwives providing pre-natal and/or obstetrical care in rural settings, the course teaches participants how to use point-of-care ultrasound to answer specific diagnostic questions during the first and third trimesters of a pregnancy. This course is useful for rural generalists, even if you do not provide deliveries as part of your practice. Details of the course are available here.

As always, complimentary childcare is available during conference hours. Spousal registration is also available for participants looking to bring their family to Nanaimo for the weekend.

Conference brochures and a registration link are available at (You may register for BCALM for Provider Wellness and HOUSE-OB using this link.)

See you in Nanaimo!
