This fall, UBC Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) is running another exciting series of the popular Rural Rounds program!
This is a series of monthly, one hour videoconference sessions includes a presentation and interactive Q&A discussion, on a rurally-relevant topic of interest to rural family practitioners. These popular rounds offers participants a virtual doctor’s lounge that encompasses rural BC, yet is ‘closer to home’ for individual physicians.
Each session takes place on the first Thursday of every month from September 2017 to June 2018 at your local hospital videoconference site from 8:00 – 9:00 am. Additionally, with the WebEx online webconferencing option now available, participants are able to join from anywhere using any device with an internet connection – this allows for greater access for physicians not able to attend at hospital sites due to time or travel constraints.
This year includes presentations from subject matter experts in various health care professions, including emergency medicine, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, addictions medicine, and family practice. Topics this season include rural diabetes management, suboxone treatment, multidisciplinary approach to incontinence, telehealth, spirometry interpretation, pain management using physical therapy techniques, transportation of critical patients and management considerations, evidence-based medicine, and more!
