There will be an opportunity to experience a First Nations Traditional Medicine Walk at the 2016 Rural Emergency Continuum of Care (RECC) conference being held in Prince George, BC on June 9 and 10. The walk, led by Cheryl Schweizer, will take place during the lunch hour on Friday, June 10. A boxed lunch will be provided to RECC delegates participating in this event.
The walk will take place in Esker Provincial Park. Participants will learn about plants traditionally used by indigenous people for medicinal applications. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather, wear sturdy walking shoes, and be bear and cougar aware.
Further details and a sign up sheet will be available at the Meet ‘n’ Greet Reception being held on June 8 at the Two Rivers Art Gallery, and at the RECC Registration Desk at the Civic Centre on June 9.
