The Wilderness Medicine Course is a day-long accredited course, developed by BC rural physicians. Physicians, search and rescue personnel and wilderness outfitters interested in providing medical care on expeditions and backcountry trips, or in a Search and Rescue context will find the course invaluable. The course provides structured learning through short talks, hands-on small group skill sessions, and field sessions with multiple simulations that encompass a wide breadth of wilderness emergencies.
The next Wilderness Medicine course will be held on June 11, 2016 in Vanderhoof, BC. This course will be offered in conjunction with the RCCbc’s rural conference, Rural Emergency Continuum of Care (RECC) being held in Prince George on June 9 and 10, 2016. Registration for this course will begin in early March 2016 – check the RCCbc’s RECC conference page for updates about registration. Space is limited for this course – register early to avoid disappointment!
