UBC residents training at the Rural Kelowna training site

The Family Medicine Postgraduate Program at UBC is widely distributed throughout the province. This residency site will site offer a two year residency training program accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. The site will provide the resident with the skills needed to practice family medicine with a special emphasis on the skills required for rural practice.
Applicants must be eligible for B.C. medical licensure and a Clinical Faculty appointment. He/She must be a Certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Educational and administrative experience in residency training is desired.
The successful candidate will have recognized leadership capacity, excellent communication skills, as well as a vision and commitment to building the capacity of UBC to train physicians for serving citizens of British Columbia.
The position involves supervision of resident training, including curriculum development, assessment, faculty development, and program evaluation. Duties also include recruitment and regular review of teaching practices.
The incumbent reports to the Director of Postgraduate Programs. It is anticipated that the position will require the equivalent of 2 days/week. The appointment is for a term of 3 year and renewable upon review. The start date for the job is negotiable but preferably in the fall, with a two month overlap with the existing Site Director.
